Ellen A. Holmes
Ellen A. Holmes has had a distinguished career in the higher education and non-profit sectors where she developed a broad array of specialties ranging from academic and regulatory administration to program development and management, to business development, strategic planning and fundraising.
She served as Dean of Academic Administration at the School for International Training (SIT) in Brattleboro, VT and led the institution in its successful NEASC re-accreditation process. She was instrumental in positioning the institution as a global platform and launched a number of new international programs. In her capacity as Vice President for Advancement at World Learning, an international NGO affiliated with SIT, she was responsible for securing grants and gifts of more than $30 million, built the institution’s philanthropic and alumni affairs capacity and worked to develop and strengthen its board of trustees.
Prior to her career in higher education and the non-profit sector, Holmes was an executive in the publishing business in New York and Los Angeles. She holds a BA from the University of Vermont, a certificate in management from Babson College and conducted graduate studies at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst.
