The Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL as it is better known, is a standardized English proficiency test to measure the English capabilities of a non-native speaker of English.
The TOEFL scores are accepted by a suite of universities around the world and is also a medium for screening job seekers and immigrations applicants to English speaking destinations the world over.
The TOEFL exam is structured and designed to test the proficiency of an applicant in the four skills of the English language – Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

TOEFL SCORE STRUCTURE :

Individual skills are scored between 0 to 30.
The total score will be between 0 to 120 for the entire test
Scores are valid for a two year period and can be retaken as many time for improvement subject that the test is not retaken more than once in a three day duration.
Official test scores are ready within a six day duration.
Online score card can be downloaded within 8 days after the test.
A physical score copy will be sent via mailer within 11 days of taking the test. This is optional if selected when registering for the test.

Slot booking :

Candidates aspiring to appear for TOEFL have to register themselves. There are four possible ways for the TOEFL application, namely:

Online
By mail,
By phone and
In person

at the TOEFL test registration centre. There are several test centres available across various locations. Before doing that, you need to first decide the location he/she would like to choose for taking the exam. The availability of TOEFL test dates will depend on the seat availability at the test centre. You can register for the TOEFL test online on the official website of ETS (exam conducting body). Online registration/application of TOEFL will close seven days before the test is conducted.

Cancel/ Change your Registration

If you wishe to cancel your registration, you need to do the same four days prior to the scheduled test date. To cite an example, if your test is on Saturday, you must cancel by Tuesday to get 50 percent refund. Refunds are paid in U.S. dollars for half of the original test fee paid. The balance is retained by the organization to cover expenses for processing your registration and holding a seat for you at the test centre.

*Cash refunds are not available.

Refunds will not be possible if registration procedures were flouted or if you fail to present the required identification documents at the test centre. If you made the payment by credit/debit card or e-check, the refund will be credited back to the original credit/debit card or bank account. If the payment was made in non-U.S. funds drawn on a bank outside the United States, refunds would be possible only after 12 weeks. No other services would be available for the refunds.
